Who is responsible

The controller for the processing of personal data on this website is Ben Chaulet, By Ben Solutions, Geissensteinring 30, 6005 Luzern. For any question about your data, use the contact form on the homepage.

This policy follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

When you visit the website

The website is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting. When you open a page, the server automatically processes technical data: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, and your browser and operating system. This is needed to deliver the website and keep it secure. Google keeps these logs for a limited time.

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Fonts and images are loaded from this website itself, not from third parties.

Your language choice is saved only in your own browser (local storage). It is never sent to me, and you can delete it at any time in your browser settings.

When you write to me

When you use the contact form, I receive your name, your email address, your message and the language of the page. To protect the form against spam, the browser type and an irreversible code (hash) calculated from your IP address are also stored.

Messages are stored in a Google Cloud Firestore database located in Zurich, Switzerland, and a copy is sent to my email inbox (Google Gmail). I use this data only to answer you and never pass it on for marketing.

I delete your message once it is no longer needed to handle your request, at the latest two years after our last exchange, unless the law requires me to keep it longer.

Service providers and transfers abroad

For hosting, the database and email, I work with Google (Google Ireland Ltd. and Google LLC). Google may also process data in other countries, including the United States. Google is certified under the Swiss-US and EU-US Data Privacy Framework and uses the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission and recognised in Switzerland, to ensure an adequate level of protection.

Social networks

The links to Facebook, Instagram and TikTok are simple links. No data is sent to these networks until you click on them. After that, the privacy policy of the network concerned applies.

Your rights

You can ask at any time what data I hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted. You can also object to its processing and ask for a copy in a common format. Just use the contact form on the homepage.

If you think your data is not handled correctly, you can contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, edoeb.admin.ch) or, if you live in the EU, the data protection authority of your country.

Security

The website is only served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Only I have access to the stored messages.

Changes

I may update this policy when the website changes, for example if visitor statistics are added. The version published on this page always applies.
